EXFO EXs: Your Ultimate Testing Solution for Network Performance
EXFO EXs provides an advanced suite of testing tools designed to ensure optimal network performance, reliability, and efficiency for telecom professionals.
EXFO’s EX Series offers a unique suite of Ethernet, PON*, and Wi-Fi testing solutions tailored for both residential and business environments, emphasizing quality of experience (QoE) for Fibre to the Home (FTTH). The compact EX1 and robust EX10 testers enable communication service providers and multiple system operators (MSOs) to validate full line-rate services efficiently through a unified mobile application.
The EX1 supports various interfaces, including Ethernet, Wi-Fi (1-5), GPON, and XGS-PON, allowing the measurement of throughput (both download and upload) and latency using the renowned Speedtest® technology from Ookla®. This guarantees consistent and reliable metrics with each test.
The EX10 enhances capabilities by supporting higher Ethernet interface rates up to 10G, alongside optical interfaces ranging from 1G to 10G and compatibility with Wi-Fi 6/6E (IEEE 802.11ax). It also improves GPON and XGS-PON functionalities, making it a versatile choice for advanced testing needs.
EX Series products excel in generating service "birth certificates" during the provisioning phase. Field technicians can conduct a comprehensive Wi-Fi Channel Map analysis to optimize Access Point placement based on customer location requirements. Furthermore, service providers can assess optical connections utilizing SFP/SFP+ transceivers commonly found in business installations.
The introduction of PON qualification elevates troubleshooting capabilities, enabling detailed link validation for PON ONT/ONU connections. This includes measurements for ONU-ID, PON-ID, ODN Class, RX Optical Power, Transmit Optical Level (TOL), and ODN Loss.
Designed with user convenience in mind, the EX Series does not require a display; all functions are accessed through an intuitive application on the technician's iOS-powered device. This application streamlines connection setup, reporting, and cloud-based firmware upgrades. Additionally, test reports can be synthesized to deliver comprehensive documentation for both residential and business customers.
The integration of Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) technology facilitates untethered testing, allowing technicians to operate up to 100 feet away from the tester without compromising functionality. This feature extends battery life significantly, enabling technicians to maximize productivity throughout their workday.
*Note: All PON testing necessitates the use of an EXFO Managed PON ONT stick; please consult your EXFO representative for further information.
